How do I special order a Needlepoint Canvas?
Simple!

If you already know what canvas you want, you simply need to call us at (408) 246-3800 or e-mail us at contactus@exclamationpoint.org. Tell us the Designer name and the canvas number. We may have to contact the designer for the exact price, this can take up to 72hrs depending on what day of the week it is. We do ask for a 50% down payment for special order canvases.

If you have no idea which canvas you want feel free to look through our Designers - Needlepoint Link. This should take you to all of the designers websites. May I suggest a glass of your favorite beverage while perusing these sites?

How do I special order a Counted Cross Stitch Chart/Kit?

How do I special order other items?
In general, we are very happy to special order pretty much anything that is related to needle crafting. There have been very few instances where we have not been able to come through for our customers. This usually happens when a distributor requires us to order a large amount of the item to meet their minimum sell/ship amount. At this point we try to go the extra mile for you, and locate someone nearby that does carry the item you desire.

I put in a special order now what?
We wait.

Depending on the item, if it was in stock, and where it's being shipped from, this can take some time. For example, an in-stock needlepoint canvas can take as little as a week to come in, but an out of stock needlepoint canvas can take as many as 8 weeks to be painted and shipped. Feel free to call us for updates. We will call the distributor and then call you back with an update.

Do you do finishing?
No & Yes.

No, we don't do the finishing.

Yes, we work with a couple of local Finishers to have your items finished into pillows and what-not.

How do I go about getting my item finished?

After you have checked it over thoroughly for missed stitches, bring it on in! We have this almost down to an artful science. We have a form where we write down your name, contact info, and a brief description of your item. We then discuss what you would like to see your item done as. Pillow, wall hanging, rug... this can take some imagining. We no longer carry fabric swatches as the finishers go through the fabric so quickly, it would be impossible to keep up to date with the fabrics and cording that they have in-stock. We do have several examples of their work in store for you to see the different styles that are available. Be as creative in your finishing as in your stitching!

Is my credit card information saved into your computer?
NO!

When you do a phone order, and we ask for your card information, it is typed directly into the computer and processed right then and there. We never keep your card information for future use, and it is never saved into the computer. We do our best daily to use the safest processors and most secure ways to do business.

Do you teach classes?
Yes!

We mostly teach individual classes. This is because larger group classes can be difficult to pull together. If you and a few friends want to get together and learn to knit, crochet, needlepoint..., we will be happy to work with you and develop a special class just for you and your friends. Classes are generally $40 per hour; this does not include the supplies needed for the lesson. Please call (408) 246-3800 to set up your classes today!

Do you have any group activities?
Yes!

We have our once a month Stitch 'N It meetup. They meet in the back room on the third Saturday from 10:45am - 1:45pm. This is a free, drop in and have fun, multi-crafting group. We have people of all ages and walks of life come in, sit, stitch, knit, and what-ever, have fun and relax with other like minded people. This is also a great opportunity to learn new techniques and expand your crafting friends circle!

Also, there is a weekly drop in Fix-a-Stitch group on Thursdays from 2pm - 4pm. This group is primarily for those who work with yarn to get help with their project. It costs $10 and is a drop in and get help group.

Check our Calendar for updates. Dates and times may have changed due to schedule changes!

What classes do you offer?

We offer beginner classes on knitting, crochet, needlepoint, counted cross stitch and embroidery. If you are wishing to learn more advanced stitches or techniques, talk with us. We may be able to help you, but these classes must be arranged ahead of time. We also have a certified embroidery teacher, Wanda Palinkas, who will be teaching several levels of embroidery techniques starting in January 2017. Call us to be put on her list if you are interested in her classes.

I want to buy my friend a gift, but I don't know what he or she would like. Any suggestions?

If you don’t know their specific type of needlework or details of what they are wanting for their next project, we offer gift cards of any denomination you choose. These can be used for anything in the store, including sales, special orders or finishing. We do carry some very pretty items that would make wonderful gifts as well as the cards. If you don’t see anything that would suit your friend we can set up the gift card instead. These can be purchased and used online, over the phone or in the store. This way if your friend lives out of the area they can still enjoy our service and selection. Happy gift giving!

Do you have a newsletter so I can keep up on what is going on at your store?

  Yes.

We publish the newsletter online on the first of each month. You can subscribe through our website or in person at the store. While we do retain your email address, we do not sell it or put it in the public domain. We very rarely send out more than one email per month. We don’t like spam and we don’t want to do that to you either.

I don't live near you and I don't have a LNS or LYS. How can I order from you?

We have an online store that you can reach through our website. All of our threads, yarns, canvases, and supplies are available online. We can even pull threads for you on a canvas you order through our store. While we realize that for most of us who love working with fibers it is all about the way things feel, it is not always possible to know how every thread feels when purchasing items online. We discuss guidelines for the threads you want to work with and how much you want to spend. Our return policy is very reasonable and our ultimate goal is that you are happy with your purchase.

Before I purchase anything from you, I'd like to know a little more about your store. Where can I get more information?

We have information about our store and our history on our web page at the About us link. We also have a Yelp site and there are several people who have put comments up about us. Please feel free to check us out. If you have any other questions about us please call.
